In this call, you’ll go over your insurance coverage and everything you need to know about Akin. We’ll help take care of booking your first appointment(s) right there.

Based on your unique needs, you’ll get a personalized care plan and we will match you with one of our incredible acupuncture partners that specializes in the area you need support with + is convenient in location.

At Akin, everything we do is designed to be complementary to your care with your MD. We are working to partner with more and more MDs and are happy to collaborate with yours. Often, acupuncture treatments augment what you're doing with your MD.

All acupuncture visits take place in our provider’s clinics, or in your home. We have care providers across California, so you can find an in person location that works for you.

Currently, Akin is out of network for all insurances. To provide you with as affordable and accessible care as possible, we’re committed to working with you and your insurance provider and will file your claims for reimbursement. Most people are eligible for out-of-network coverage .

The first session is 90 minutes. Your acupuncturist will meet with you for an average of an hour to understand your full medical history and to understand how key functions ofa the body are operating - how you are sleeping, managing stress, what you are eating, how you are digesting, etc - these insights inform the acupuncturist where areas need more support and how they might be affecting your health goals. Following this intake, the acupuncture treatment with needles is close to 30 minutes.

All follow-up appointments are 60 minutes, including a 25-30 minute check-in with your acupuncturist followed by the acupuncture treatment.
